Learning from the Disney Heroines
A Project that Gives Me an EDGE
CARRYING OUT MY PROJECT
I started my project by making a list of the Disney heroines I wanted to use. Next, I watched each of their movies, focusing on (and taking notes of) the heroines' abilities and attributes. I reorganized my notes from per-heroine, to categories of abilities (i.e. physical activity, science, arts, etc.) This became my book outline. With help from my younger siblings, I researched all of the topics on the internet and started making final decisions about what which topics and what information I wanted to include in the book. I designed each of the pages and explained the topics using kid-friendly (and heroine-friendly) language on their corresponding pages. My family helped me edit it, and then I sent it to UPS to be printed into a book. My book includes a front page, an intro, a table of contents, a references page, an index, and fully-colored content pages. It comes to a total of 169 pages.
ANALYZE

I learned so much from analyzing the movies, not just about the heroines, but also about how much work and thought goes into a Disney movie!
My siblings and I copied mass amounts of information from credible internet resources. I sorted through all the information afterwards and highlighted key concepts.
RESEARCH
Even with all the pictures and information I needed already at my disposal, it took me about one hour to complete each page!
